Service Providers in Austria

Until the end of 2029, eight cloud platforms from various providers will be available to ACOnet participants without tendering. Existing contracts from the "2020 IaaS+ Framework" should be transferred to the new framework, as it is more comprehensive and offers better conditions in most cases.
All cloud platforms available within the "OCRE 2024 Framework" in Austria are listed below, divided into Hyperscalers (global cloud providers with local sales partners) and Original Infrastructure Providers (OIPs - providers of self-operated European cloud services).
If there are multiple providers of a hyperscaler platform, the cascade method applies for direct awarding within the framework agreement (e.g. when transferring existing "2020 IaaS+" contracts): Service provider #1 must always be consulted first. Only if this provider is unable to meet the request, service provider #2 (and subsequently, if applicable, service provider #3) may be called in.
For new calls, other selection methods (mini competitions, desktop mini competitions) are available in addition to direct award. Details can be found in the OCRE 2024 - Institutions Guide to Using the Framework.
