Restaurants, open on Mondays

Linz offers a wide variety of culinary delights - from traditional and extraordinary restaurants to rustic wine taverns, classic cafes and modern bars. However, they are usually closed on Mondays. If you are looking for a restaurant on Monday evening, you might try one of these:

Stadtliebe is located at the OÖ Kulturquartier, a lively and inspiring hub that links the country's cultural centre, Ursulinenhof, and the OK ("Offenes Kulturhaus"). The OÖ Kulturquartier hosts temporary exhibitions, the independent cinema Moviemento, the bar/restaurant Gelbes Krokodil, which offers a range of delicious vegetarian dishes, the cafe/bar Solaris (both: OK Platz 1, open daily), and more.

Another hotspot with numerous cafes and pubs is the "Altstadt" (old town) to the west of the main square. Don't miss Cafe Jindrak and its famous "Linzer Torte" (Herrenstrasse 22-24 and several branches throughout the town)! Recommended cafes/bars are also Cafe Meier (Pfarrplatz 7, perfect to have breakfast), Cafe Traxlmayr (Promenade 16, "Viennese Cafe"), Stern (Graben 30) and of course Cafe Strom at Stadtwerkstatt (Kirchengasse 4).
